Blizzard Bloghop

What a great idea! I've gotten some new followers lately - so I figured that participating in this would be a good idea!

My name is Allison.

I started this blog when I first started my shop on Etsy. At first, it was just about my crafts and other Etsy sellers I liked. But then as time went on and I got to reading other blogs, I started expanding what I wrote about as well.

I'm 25 and live in Indiana with my boyfriend(Derrek) and our almost 3 year old son(Colby).

(Christmas 2008)

I blog about our everyday adventures, The Sisterhood, You Capture, Flashback Friday and more. I work full time, I go to school online fulltime, and then I still have my everyday life with my family! Things get pretty crazy around here, but I wouldn't change a thing!

I'm not one of those witty bloggers that has a million followers. But that's okay with me. We are very "non-traditional" here and sometimes that turns people away. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I respect that! I hope you stick around! I can't guarantee I'll be full of posts with humor or meaning. But I can promise you that I blog about what's real - the fun, happy, sad, depressing, struggling, thriving, joyful times in my life.

If you want to join in on the Bloghop - head on over to Household 6 Diva!

Superbowl Sunday

Not too bad for someone who doesn't usually decorate cakes! I'm pretty proud of myself for this one!

GO COLTS!!

Flashback Friday

Flashback Friday Button

As if Fridays weren't good enough already. Now they're even more fun because of FF!!

This week's optional theme was class portraits. So, I dug out some old yearbook photos. Growing up, my grandma kept a photo album for all of us kids. When she passed away, my grandpa gave us those albums. She has every single school picture, plus any other pictures she took of us. I look at my album quite frequently. Not only does it have all those photographic memories in it, but whenever I look at it I always think of her. Man, I miss her. Colby would have loved her!

So, today you get to see my Kindergarten picture and then my Senior Year picture. Enjoy!

1989 - Kindergarten (5 years old)

2002 - Senior Year/12th grade (17 years old)

Won't you come Flashback with us?

You Capture - Faces

It's Colby...who else would you expect?!

Here's Colby giving some lovin' to his new Plex doll. In the past, we've had horrible experience with trying to cut his hair. Today, he sat there like a pro and didn't make a peep. We took him to the store and let him pick out a prize. Plex was it.

The rest of these were taken about 30 minutes ago....the little guy will always be my baby :)

Head over to Beth's to see many more faces!

Catching up

I’m playing catch up today; True Confessions Tuesday, Weigh-In Wednesday and whatever else I can think of!

Man, these last few days have been extremely crazy. Not really “busy”, just crazy. I’ve been overwhelmed emotionally and mentally.

So, here it goes…

True Confessions Tuesday – a day late!
The deal I made with myself last week about exercising…yep, already broke it. But you know, LIFE happens. Time to move on. For the most part I’ve been eating better and drinking TONS of water. We finally got Colby out of our bed, so I’ve been sleeping better too. Man do I notice a difference now!

I don’t have much to “confess” except the exercise thing. I haven’t done any.

Now, on to Weigh-In Wednesday.

I was so stoked about weighing in today because I’d done so well on my food and water intake. Then, wouldn’t you know, I got up late this morning and totally forgot it was Wednesday. By the time I remembered, I was already dressed and about to head out the door. So, for this week I’ll just say I maintained.

Caden’s Heart Benefit
Do you know about Caden? He’s a beautiful little boy. I hope I get to meet him someday. Heart babies hold a special place in my heart. You know that if you’ve been reading my blog for awhile. Colby had heart issues and had closed heart surgery. Ever since then, I melt when I meet a heart baby. I want to do everything I can to help the child and the family. I learned about Caden through my friend Jessica (she doesn’t have a blog). I’ve known Jessica since 6th grade. We lost touch for a few years, but got back in touch in the last year. She is an amazing lady! Anyway, Caden is her cousin Traci’s little boy. Caden is currently awaiting a new heart. He’s with his mom in Nashville, TN at the Children’s Hospital until they can find a new heart for the little guy. This weekend, in our home town in Indiana, some of Caden’s family is throwing together a benefit in honor of him. There will be food, auctions, a bake sale, face painting, bands and more. For the auction, I’ve asked some of my friendly EtsyMoms to donate an item if they can. Boy, did I get a response! Thank you ladies! We are raising money to help with financial things. Whether its to help pay hospital bills, help with gas money, food, or whatever other expenses they might happen upon while Caden is in the hospital. Please go read about Caden. Send him an e-card or snail mail. All the information is on his page. Sign the guestbook. If you’d like to make a donation, please get ahold of me.

Flashback Friday (on Sunday)

Flashback Friday Button

I know, I'm a 2 days late. Oops! So, I'll make it up by posting a few photos.

Now, Tia suggested concert pictures. OH. MY. GOSH. I could post about a thousand of these. Seriously. But, I'll just share a few of my favorites.

October 2003. A few of my friends and I went to see one of our favorites bands, Lost City Angels. We were lucky enough to meet them back in 2001 at Warped Tour. We actually exchanged AIM names with them and kept in touch. So when they came back in 2003, they put us on the VIP list. Sweet.

This is me and Drew. He played guitar. I had a major crush on the dude. lol.

Fast forward to August 2004. We went to Warped Tour in Indy, then left the next day and traveled up to Chicago, met with some friends, and then rode with them to the Warped Tour in Milwaukee.
This is me and Stina (my bff at the time). This was after spending hours in the blazing sun next to thousands of other gross, sweaty people lol.

Moving on to May 2006. My sister bought me 3 tickets to May Day, a local concert that gets put on every year. This year, it happened to be Three Days Grace, Hurt, Flyleaf and Staind. I chose to take my sister, of course, and my friend Ashleigh. This is me and Ashleigh after a few too many beers lol.
